Michigan State baseball takes on Western Michigan at LMCU Ballpark in Comstock Park on Wednesday!
🔼 Signed! The men’s ice hockey team had eight players sign professional hockey contracts. Porter Martone, Trey Augustine, Maxim Strbak, Daniel Russell, Colin Ralph, Charlie Stramel, Tiernan Shoudy and Matt Basgall have all taken their talents to the next level. The men all signed three-year contracts with their respective National Hockey League organization.
🔼 School-Record! A school-record 12 Spartans have been named to the 2026 Hampshire Honor Society by the National Football Foundation. The previous was six, set in both 2019 and 2025. Players recognized must be a senior who will graduate this spring/summer, and just completed his final year of playing eligibility in 2025, or a graduated player or grad transfer, who has already earned a bachelor's degree and competed in the 2025 season (even if the player has remaining eligibility and may return to play next season). The athlete must also have attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale) and been a starter or contributor throughout the 2025 season.
🔼 National Honor. Women’s field hockey athlete Maddie Lawlor was named the national female recipient of the 2026 Big Ten Jackie Robinson Community & Impact Award presented by Discover. Lawlor was selected as Michigan State's female recipient due to her multi-year involvement with Be The Match, now known as the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), and her selfless journey to becoming a bone marrow donor herself.
