Today, we're looking back at a huge win for Michigan State men's soccer.
Good morning! Spoiler alert — Michigan State volleyball beat Michigan for the first time since 2017 over the weekend, and we just can’t wait any longer to share the highlights with you!

🔼 Halted The Hoosiers. Michigan State men’s soccer (5-0-2) continued its great start to its season with a 2-1 win over Indiana on Friday.
With the match tied in the 77th minute, Sean Kerrigan roofed a penalty kick goal to give the Spartans the 2-1 lead that held as the final. Richie Ludwig scored the other goal for Michigan State in the contest.

🔺 History Made. Michigan State volleyball was on the road Friday night to open up Big Ten play against Michigan, and swept the Wolverines to pick up its first win in the series since 2017!
Taylah Holdem was fantastic for the Spartans, with 19 kills on the night.
Michigan State played at Illinois on Sunday, dropping a thriller in five sets to the Illini. Holdem again played well for the Spartans, grabbing 19 kills for the second match in a row.
🔼 Winner x2. Michigan State field hockey picked up its first Big Ten win of the season with a 1-0 triumph over Indiana on Friday.
The contest was tied late into the fourth quarter, until Ellie Rutherford found the back of the net to give the Spartans the lead. Cecily Charles picked up her first career shutout, saving all three shots that came her way.
The Spartans kept things rolling on Sunday, with a 3-0 win over Central Michigan to earn its third win of the season. Lena Kassel, Rutherford and Bianca Pizano all scored against the Chippewas.
🔺 Let The Good Times Roll. Bella Najera scored in the 11th minute for Michigan State women’s soccer on Sunday against Wisconsin, and the Spartans held on the rest of the way for a 1-0 win.

Michigan State is now 7-2-2 on the season, and 2-0-1 in Big Ten play.
🔺 Topped By The Terps. Michigan State football fell behind early against Maryland on Saturday, fought back in the second half, but couldn’t make up the deficit in a 31-9 loss.

Runners, On Your Mark. Michigan State women’s cross country finished seventh in a field of 23 teams at the highly-competitive Virginia Invitational over the weekend!
Katie Osika led the Spartans once again, finishing the 5K 12th overall in a personal-best time of 16:38.3.
