What else do we have brewing today?
🏐 An undefeated weekend
👟 Bringing home wins
💚 And much, much more

🔼 Cheers To 150. Michigan State men’s soccer notched the 150th win of Coach Rensing’s career yesterday with a 1-0 victory over Detroit Mercy! MSU’s freshman Luke Spadafora scored his first career goal, the only goal of the contest, to deliver the milestone win for the green and white.
Up next? MSU hits the road to battle Bowling Green on Sept. 5 at 7 p.m.

🔼 Bounce Back. After dropping their season opener, Michigan State field hockey stormed back to defeat Ohio, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon, posting the team’s first shutout since beating Colgate last season. MSU dominated the Bobcats in shots (19-13) and shots on goal (13-5). The Spartans had a balanced scoring attack with five goals from five different players: Bianca Pizano, Katelyn Dulin, Mora Cavazza, Sarah Connolly, and Gracie Burns.

🔼 An Undefeated Weekend. MSU volleyball opened the season with a pair of victories to get to 2-0 to start the new campaign! The Spartans downed Chicago State, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon after sweeping Merrimack on Saturday. During Sunday’s contest, outside hitter Taylah Holdem posted 17 kills, the most in a match for a junior since 2023, finishing just shy of a double-double with nine digs.

🔼 Bringing Home A W. MSU men’s and women’s cross country were both victorious to open a new season over the weekend at the 40th Annual Jeff Drenth Memorial. The women finished with 38 points, with Meghan Beute the top attracted finisher for the Spartans. Cookie Baugh was the seventh overall finisher, while Ella Christensen finished eighth, and Morgan Brown came in 10th in her Spartan debut.
Meanwhile, the men won with 46 points as Patrick Byrnes claimed the top spot among attached runners, setting a new personal best in the 5k with a time of 14:47.30. Brady McArdle also set a new personal best with a 14:57.80, finishing in seventh, while Drew Seabase came in ninth.

🔼 Week 2. It’s Week 2 for Spartan football, and head coach Jonathan Smith held a press conference yesterday ahead of Michigan State’s prime-time battle against Boston College.
