🔼 Call It Even. Two of the best teams in the country went toe-to-toe at DeMartin Stadium on Thursday, as No. 8 Michigan State women’s soccer and No. 9 Arkansas played to a 2-2 draw.

The Spartans scored first thanks to a Mackenzie Anthony goal in the 21st minute before Arkansas scored back-to-back goals to take a lead. Bella Najera scored in the 55th minute to earn the draw.

🔼 All Square. Michigan State men’s soccer battled tough in its season opener on Thursday, playing No. 25 SIUE to a 1-1 draw in Edwardsville.

Sean Kerrigan scored the first goal of the match for the Spartans, breaking a scoreless tie in the 38th minute with his penalty kick goal. SIUE found the equalizer in the 60th minute.

Michigan State will be back in action for its home opener this Monday at 7 p.m. against Bowling Green.
