🔼 The Arty Party. Michigan State defenseman Artyom Levshunov is officially a Chicago Blackhawk!
Chicago selected the All-American Spartan with the No. 2 overall pick in the NHL Draft, with Levshunov becoming the highest-drafted player from Michigan State in 36 years.
“We’re proud of Arty and how hard he has worked for this moment,” said Michigan State head coach Adam Nightingale. “It’s a dream come true for a young hockey player to experience what he did tonight. We’re incredibly thankful for what he’s done for our program the last year and looking forward to watching his continued development.”

🔼 Geary Gets Picked. Levshunov wasn’t the only Spartan selected over the weekend — Patrick Geary was selected by his hometown Buffalo Sabres in the sixth round (No. 172 overall)!

🔼 Super Spartan. We’re getting closer — only 60 more days until Michigan State football is back on the field!
Sixty makes us think of one Spartan — legendary Michigan State guard Frank Kush wore No. 60 when he was blocking everything in sight back in the early 1950s!
Kush earned first-team All-America honors in 1952, and was a key cog on the offensive line on back-to-back national championship teams in 1951 (9-0) and 1952 (9-0).
