🔼 U.S. Champion! Heath Baldwin has done it — the Michigan State grad student won the decathlon at the U.S. Track & Field Olympic Trials on Saturday night to secure a spot in this summer’s Paris Olympic Games!

Baldwin’s winning score of 8,625 points is a personal best for the Kalamazoo native, and the sixth-best score in the world this year. He set personal-bests in the 400m (48.58), shot put (16.52m) and discus throw (49.87m), and clinched the national title with a 66.69m throw in the javelin.

Ryan Talbot also competed in the event, earning himself four top-five finishes en route to a season-best 7,872 points.
