🔼 Deep Threat. We keep getting closer — we’ve now only got 77 days until Michigan State football is back!

Kirk Gibson, one of the greatest two-sport athletes ever in the college ranks, averaged an unbelievable 24.1 yards per reception during the 1977 season, as part of a Spartan career that included 112 catches, 2,347 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Gibson was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2017, after a professional baseball career that lasted 17 seasons and included a National League MVP in 1988 when he won a World Series with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

🔼 One Round Down. Michigan State’s Ashton McCulloch is through one round at the U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, with work to do to make the weekend.

McCulloch shot 5-over 75 in Thursday’s first round and is tied for 105th, with an eagle on the par-5 fifth the highlight of his day.
