🔼 In The Blocks. Michigan State track and field heads east to Philadelphia this weekend, competing at the prestigious Penn Relays at Franklin Field.
The Penn Relays is the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States, hosted annually since 1895.
🔼 Home Field Advantage. Michigan State women’s golf has qualified for the NCAA Tournament, and will host the East Lansing Regional at Forest Akers!
The Spartans, the No. 5 seed in the Regional, will be joined by Southern California, Northwestern, Florida, Pepperdine, Kentucky, Denver, Oklahoma State, Indiana, Augusta, Illinois State and Oakland.
🔼 Bowed Out. No. 13 seed Michigan State women’s tennis fell in its Big Ten Tournament opener on Wednesday against No. 12 seed Rutgers, 4-3.
The Spartans took the doubles points and received singles wins from Matilde Morais and Ria Bhakta, but fell one singles win shy of advancing.
🔼 Farm Fresh. As a horticulture major, Michigan State distance runner Lizzie Babcock puts the ‘green’ in ‘Go Green’ as a student-athlete.
Babcock has spent time working on coffee farms in Costa Rica, and this summer plans on going to Kodiak Island, Alaska to work on a hydroponic farm.
