🔼 Double Digits. Michigan State track and field ran fast, threw far and jumped high over the weekend at a pair of meets, totaling 10 victories at the James Madison Invite.

🔼 Split Weekend. No. 18 Michigan State men’s tennis split a pair of matches over the weekend, losing in a competitive match against No. 1 Ohio State on Saturday before taking down Penn State, 6-1, on Sunday.

The Spartans lost 6-1 to the top-ranked Buckeyes, but the match was much closer than the final score — four singles matches went into deciding third sets.

🔼 Runners Up. Michigan State women’s golf received top-10 finishes from both Paula Balanzategui and Katie Lu at the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, Ohio over the weekend, and finished second as a team at 13-over par.

Balanzategui shot 1-over and finished in a tie for fourth place, while Lu shot 2-over and tied for seventh.

🔼  Sunday Stunner. Michigan State softball handed Penn State just its third conference loss of the season on Sunday, scoring four runs in the first two innings and winning 6-2.

Ashlyn Roberts earned the first start of her Spartan career, throwing 3.1 innings before handing the ball off to Madison Taylor, who earned the win with 3.2 innings of her own. Mik Anthony and Kayla Bane both had two-RBI knocks to provide the majority of the offense.

🔼 Back Home Soon. Michigan State baseball had a rough weekend on the road at Purdue, getting outscored 42-3 in a three-game sweep from the Boilermakers.

🔼 Down A Pair. Michigan State women’s tennis fell in a pair of road matches over the weekend, 4-2 at Minnesota on Friday and 4-0 at Wisconsin on Sunday.

The Spartans won the doubles point and received a singles win from Issey Purser against the Gophers.
