🔼 Final Four. No. 3 seed Michigan State men’s tennis made a run to the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament over the weekend, ultimately falling to No. 2 seed UCLA in Columbus, Ohio.

The Spartans beat No. 6 seed USC on Friday, with Max Sheldon tying the program record for most career wins with victory No. 167.

🔼 Late Leap. Michigan State men’s golf jumped up the leaderboard on Sunday at the Big Ten Championship at Baltimore Country Club, finishing third in the 18-team field. The Spartans shot a 10-over par 290 in the final round, tied for the third-lowest team round of the day.

Lorenzo Pinili led the way for the Spartans, finishing in a tie for fifth place at 1-under. By finishing among the top-five individuals, Pinili was selected to the Big Ten Championship All-Tournament Team.

🔼 Hosted The Hawks. Michigan State softball lost a rubber match at home to Iowa on Sunday, 6-4.

The Spartans took Game 2 of the series on Saturday, 4-2, thanks to a three-run walk-off home run from Kaelin Cash. Saturday’s victory was the 50th for head coach Sharonda McDonald-Kelley, now in her third season at the helm.

🔼 Baseball Recap. Michigan State baseball traveled to Ann Arbor over the weekend, dropping three games to the Wolverines.

The Spartans will be back in East Lansing next weekend, hosting a nationally-ranked Oregon squad for three games at Jeff Ishbia Field at McLane Stadium.

🔼 The Pick Is In. Michigan State offensive lineman Luke Newman was selected in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday by the Chicago Bears!

Newman was at his home in Metro Detroit with friends and family watching the NFL Draft when he got the call from the Bears.

"It's a very unique and special moment…I'm almost at a loss for words for a moment quite like this," said Newman. "I've seen it happen before, I've been to a draft party for a friend of mine last year and seen him go through it, but to actually experience it and just be blessed to have an opportunity in a franchise that believes in your abilities and is willing to have you grow and develop as a person and a player in their building, that's special. A lot of those people in that office have invested a lot in me just to hear my name called, and I can't wait to deliver it back to them and give them all I have."
