🔼 B1G Champs! Freshman Patrick Geary sent Munn Ice Arena into a frenzy on Saturday, as his overtime goal against No. 4 seed Michigan clinched a Big Ten Tournament championship for the No. 1 seed Spartans!

🔼 B1G Champs! Top-seeded Michigan State gymnastics was also crowned Big Ten champions this weekend, its first conference title in program history!

The Spartans won with a score of 197.600, narrowly topping Minnesota (197.500) to claim the title.

Skyla Schulte won the all-around title for Michigan State, becoming the first Spartan gymnast to win the event.

🔼 Back And Forth. A game of runs between No. 9 seed Michigan State men’s basketball and No. 1 seed North Carolina ended in the Tar Heels’ favor, with a 85-69 win over the Spartans.

Michigan State led by 12 points in the first half, trailed by 12 early in the second half, and battled back to within two before North Carolina stretched its lead toward the end.

Tyson Walker scored 24 points to lead the Spartans in the loss.

🔼 Heel Heartbreaker. After falling behind 23-10 after the first quarter to No. 8 seed North Carolina in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, No. 9 seed Michigan State stormed back to make it a game before ultimately falling 59-56 to the Tar Heels.

Julia Ayrault scored 14 points and nine rebounds to lead the Spartans, with Theryn Hallock (14) and Moira Joiner (13) joined her in double figures.

🔼 End Of The Road. Michigan State wrestling ended its run at the NCAA Championships on Friday, with 165-pounder Caleb Fish and 184-pounder Layne Malczewski falling in the consolation brackets.

🔼 Starting Strong. No. 18 Michigan State men’s tennis began Big Ten action over the weekend, taking down No. 53 Nebraska, 5-2, and Wisconsin, 7-0, to move to 16-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

The Spartan women went on the road for a pair of matches this weekend, losing to Rutgers and No. 58 Maryland.

🔼 Carolina Course. Michigan State women’s golf shot 4-over as a team at the Clemson Invitational over the weekend, placing fifth among 16 teams at the tournament.

Katie Lu led the way for the Spartans, shooting 2-under to tie for 10th individually.

🔼 One-Lappers. Michigan State track and field kicked off its outdoor season in Waco, Texas over the weekend with a pair of podium finishes.

Kendel Hammock won the 400m hurdles on Friday with a time of 53 seconds flat, and Noah Sage followed that up with third place finish in the 400m with a time of 46.57 seconds.

🔼 Tackled By The Terps. Michigan State baseball opened up Big Ten play this past weekend at Maryland, losing twice via extra-inning walk-off to start conference action in a heartbreaking way.

The Spartans won the middle game of the series, 5-2, getting eight fantastic innings out of Nick Powers on the mound.

🔼 Road Opener. Michigan State softball traveled to Evanston, Ill. this weekend to open Big Ten play at Northwestern, and fell three times to the Wildcats.
