🔼 New Beginnings. “Ok look, it’s been a little more up and down than we had hoped. But now they’re in the dance.”

🔼 Football In The Air. The first practice of the Jonathan Smith Era of Michigan State football is officially in the books!

🔼 First-Teamer. The awards came pouring in for Artyom Levshunov on Tuesday, as the Big Ten named him the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, as well as a First-Team All-Big Ten member.

Trey Augustine was named Second-Team All-Big Ten and was named to the All-Freshman Team, while Karsen Dorwart, Isaac Howard and Joey Larson were named Honorable Mention.

And on top of that, head coach Adam Nightingale was named Big Ten Coach of the Year.

🔼 Run-Rule. Michigan State baseball scored three runs in three separate innings on Tuesday against Purdue Fort Wayne, winning 11-1 in eight innings.

Sam Busch had a productive day at the plate for the Spartans, connecting on a three-run home run in the fifth inning and collecting four RBI overall.

🔼 Late Swing. Michigan State softball took a 2-0 lead into the sixth inning at Notre Dame on Tuesday, but a late rally gave the Irish a 4-2 win in South Bend.

Hannah Hawley got the scoring started for the Spartans with a solo home run in the third inning, and Jenae Wash added an RBI single in the inning to round out the scoring.
