🔼 How Sweet It Is! No. 2 seed Michigan State men’s basketball is headed to the Sweet 16 after its 71-63 win over No. 10 seed New Mexico on Sunday night!

The Spartans trailed the Lobos by two at halftime, but won the second half 42-32 to advance to next weekend. Jaden Akins (16), Tre Holloman (14) and Frankie Fidler (10) scored in double figures for Michigan State, which will play in the Sweet 16 for the 16th time under head coach Tom Izzo.

🔼 Just Keep Winning! No. 7 seed Michigan State women’s basketball earned its first NCAA Tournament win since 2019 on Saturday, beating No. 10 seed Harvard, 64-50, in Raleigh, N.C.

Grace VanSlooten led the Spartans with 17 points and earned her sixth double-double with 10 rebounds.

With the win, Michigan State is set for a matchup with No. 2 seed and host NC State today at noon. The Wolfpack are 27-6 overall this season, beating No. 15 seed Vermont by 20 points in the first round.

🔼 B1G Champs! No. 1 seed Michigan State hockey won its second consecutive Big Ten Tournament on Saturday in an instant classic over No. 3 seed Ohio State, beating the Buckeyes in double overtime thanks to a game-winner from Isaac Howard, 4-3.

Howard, a Hobey Baker Top 10 selection, not only had the game-winning score, but also had a first period goal and the primary assists on the other two MSU goals from Karsen Dorwart and Tanner Kelly. Howard is now the national leader in points per game (1.42), ranks third in goals (26), and is tied for fourth in points (51).  He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Big Ten Tournament and was joined on the all-tournament team by goalie Trey Augustine and defenseman Matt Basgall.

Spartan Baseball to host canned food drive at the 2025 Crosstown Showdown: Join us at the Crosstown Showdown on April 1. First Pitch is 6:05 p.m. In collaboration with the Lansing Lugnuts and Southside Community Kitchen, donations that will be accepted include: Cash, Non-Expired Canned Fruit, Pudding, and Single Ingredient Canned Items.

🔼 Among B1G’s Best. No. 9 Michigan State gymnastics scored a season-high 198.150 at the Big Ten Championships in Ann Arbor on Saturday, finishing in second place as a team.

Competition for the Spartans was highlighted by Gabrielle Stephen, who scored a perfect 10.000 on beam.

🔼 Series Win. Michigan State baseball picked up a series win at Penn State over the weekend, doubling up the Nittany Lions in Sunday’s rubber match, 10-5.

The top three hitters in the Spartans’ lineup — JT Sokolove, Ryan McKay and Caleb Berry — all had two RBI in Sunday’s win.

🔼 Conference Clash. Michigan State softball hosted No. 25 Ohio State over the weekend at Secchia Stadium, losing all three games to the Buckeyes.

🔼 The Great Outdoors. Michigan State track and field got outside for the first time this spring on Saturday, with the field athletes putting together impressive performances.

Jessica Stieb won the women’s shot put and Dillon Morlock was second in the men’s shot put to lead the way.

🔼 On A Roll. No. 29 Michigan State men’s tennis improved its Big Ten record to 5-1 over the weekend, picking up wins over No. 57 Indiana in Bloomington and No. 47 Purdue in West Lafayette.

🔼 Back-To-Back Champs. Junior Isaac Howard capped a four-point night with his 26th goal of the season at 15:09 of the second overtime period to give No. 1/1 Michigan State a 4-3 overtime victory over No 9/9 Ohio State at Munn Ice Arena.
