🔼 Back-To-Back. No. 8 Michigan State gymnastics took care of business at the Big Five Meet over the weekend, winning the event with a score of 197.275 and clinching its second consecutive Big Ten title in the process!

🔼 One Of Two. No. 4 Michigan State hockey split a pair of games against Ohio State at Munn Ice Arena over the weekend, dropping Game 1 6-2 before bouncing back in a big way in Game 2, winning 5-2.

🔼 Record-Setters. It has been raining 3-pointers all season for Michigan State women’s basketball, as the Spartans broke the single-season record for 3-pointers in a dominant 93-57 win over Rutgers on Saturday.

Michigan State has made 255 shots from deep this season, breaking the record set in 2016-17.

And while they were busy setting school records, the Spartans also earned their 20th win of the season and 10th in Big Ten play!

🔼 One Dozen. No. 21 Michigan State men’s tennis won its 11th and 12th consecutive matches to open up the season with wins over No. 49 Boise State and No. 44 Auburn to open up play at the Blue Gray Classic over the weekend, before suffering its first setback of the year to No. 35 Princeton in the championship match.

🔼 Beat At The Buzzer. Michigan State men’s basketball held a 10-point lead at halftime at home against Ohio State on Sunday, but couldn’t hold off the Buckeyes’ comeback in the second half in a 60-57 loss at the final buzzer.

Malik Hall scored 15 points for the Spartans, and Tyson Walker added 12.

🔼 Ribbon Chasing. Michigan State track and field had a successful showing at the Big Ten Indoor Championships over the weekend.

The Spartans won the women’s DMR thanks to the relay team of Kate Stewart-Barnett, Shae Harbaugh, Abbey Carvey and Lauren Freeland, and Heath Baldwin broke the school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.81 seconds.

🔼 Started, Finished. Needing a good performance on the mound following two losses to open up play at the Snowbird Classic, Michigan State baseball received a complete game from Nick Powers in a 6-2 win over Marshall on Saturday.

Powers struck out nine and didn’t allow a single baserunner to reach scoring position after the first inning.

Christian Williams provided the offense for the Spartans, going 4-for-4 with three RBI.

🔼 Postseason Next. Michigan State wrestling closed out its regular season with an 18-13 win over Central Michigan on Friday night, earning its 10th dual victory for the third consecutive year.

No. 16-ranked Layne Malczewski (184 pounds), one of five Spartan seniors recognized on senior night, won his 100th match as a member of the Michigan State wrestling team.

🔼 Sunday Funday. Michigan State softball ended the Duke Invitational on a high note Sunday, beating Elon 5-2 to finish 2-3 on the weekend.

The Spartans’ other win of the weekend also came against Elon, 4-1 in the opener on Friday. Losses to Boston, Villanova and No. 6/8 Duke were sandwiched by the Elon contests.

🔼 Lion Bit. No. 70 Michigan State women’s tennis hosted No. 28 Columbia on Sunday at the MSU Tennis Center, falling to. theLions 4-2.

Ria Bhakta and Issey Purser picked up singles victories for the Spartans.
