🔼 Spartan State! No. 14 Michigan State men’s basketball secured bragging rights and took over first place in the Big Ten standings over the weekend with its 75-62 win at No. 12 Michigan!

Four Spartans scored in double figures against the Wolverines in Ann Arbor — Jase Richardson (21), Tre Holloman (18), Jaden Akins (11) and Jeremy Fears Jr. (10).

🔼 Earned It. No. 22/21 Michigan State women’s basketball picked up its 20th win of the season on Sunday, 73-65, over Indiana on Breast Cancer Awareness Day at the Breslin Center.

Four Spartans scored in double figures — Grace VanSlooten (17), Theryn Hallock (16), Jocelyn Tate (16) and Jaddan Simmons (11).

🔼 Historic Start. Michigan State won its first two games of the weekend against Washington State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at the Kleberg Bank College Classic in Corpus Christi, Texas, marking the Spartans’ first 6-0 start to a season since 2016!

🔼 Eight Is Great. Michigan State women’s tennis ran its win streak to eight matches on Sunday, beating both Youngstown State and Ball State at the MSU Indoor Tennis Center.

The Spartans surrendered just one total point between the two matches.

🔼 Good Knight. No. 7 Michigan State gymnastics improved to 8-2 overall and 5-1 in Big Ten action over the weekend with a score of 197.475 in a win over Rutgers inside Jenison Field House.

🔼 Next Up: B1G. In the final weekend of competition before the Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships, Michigan State earned four titles across three different meets — Valadian Pallett (women’s weight throw), Connor Williamson (men’s weight throw), Jessica Stieb (women’s shot put) and Dillon Morlock (men’s shot put) all earned wins at the GVSU Tune-Up.

🔼 On Ice. No. 1 Michigan State hockey ran up against a red-hot Penn State team this weekend, skating to a 2-2 tie on Friday before falling to the No. 18 Nittany Lions on Saturday, 3-2.

🔼 Close Call. No. 33 Michigan State men’s tennis fell on the road at No. 27 Cornell on Sunday, 4-3.

Aristotelis Thanos, Max Sheldon and Vuk Radjenovic each earned singles wins for the Spartans.

🔼 Postseason Prepped. Michigan State wrestling wrapped up its regular season over the weekend at Central Michigan, falling 22-12 to the Chippewas at McGuirk Arena.

Jaden Crumpler (141 pounds), Jay Nivison (165 pounds), Marty Larkin (184 pounds) and Max Vanadia (heavyweight) earned wins for the Spartans.

🔼 Strong Finish. Michigan State softball finished up play at the Roadrunner Classic in San Antonio, Texas over the weekend with a 3-0 win over (RV) Omaha on Sunday.

Hannah Hawley provided all of the offense for the Spartans with one swing of the bat — a three-run home run in the fifth inning. Jacey Schuler earned the win, tossing seven innings while allowing just three hits and striking out five.
