🔼 Trophy Stays Home. No. 2 Michigan State hockey retained the Duel in the D trophy on Saturday, running away with a 6-1 win over Michigan at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

Tiernan Shoudy, Joey Larson, Mikey DeAngelo, Isaac Howard, Shane Vansaghi and Gavin O’Connell all scored goals for the Spartans.

Saturday was a day to remember at the Breslin Center, as Jase Richardson scored a career-high 29 points to help No. 9 Michigan State men’s basketball come from behind to beat Oregon, 86-74, and hand Tom Izzo his 353rd Big Ten win, tying Bob Knight for the most in conference history.

🔼 Gophers In The Gym. No. 5 Michigan State gymnastics celebrated Alumni Day and National Girls and Women in Sports Day with a 197.475-196.800 win over No. 16 Minnesota on Saturday.

🔼 Broken Records. The Michigan State track and field record books look different after this weekend — Elle Adrian owns the women’s weight throw record with a throw of 22.35m at the Michigan Invitational, while Jessica Stieb broke the women’s shot put record with a toss of 16.87m.

🔼 Rivalry Hoops. No. 20 Michigan State women’s hoops fell at home on Sunday to Michigan, 71-61.

Grace VanSlooten led the Spartans with 15 points and 12 rebounds, followed by Nyla Hampton (11 points) and Julia Ayrault (10 points).

🔼 Ended Strong. Michigan State softball ended its weekend in Arizona with a victory on Saturday afternoon, winning 9-1 over Western Michigan in Tucson.

Jacey Schuler earned her first collegiate victory in the circle, while Mik Anthony, Hannah Greer and Sydney Doloszycki all homered.

🔼 Road Trip. No. 22 Michigan State men’s tennis fell in a back-and-forth match at Boise State on Sunday, 4-3.

After winning the doubles point, the Spartans picked up singles wins from Max Sheldon and Danial Rakhmatullayev.
