๐Ÿ”ผ Building Momentum. Michigan State menโ€™s basketball was dominant once again on Saturday, moving to 2-0 in Big Ten play thanks to a 89-52 win over Nebraska at the Breslin Center!

The Spartans took a 10-point lead into halftime, and outscored the Huskers 48-21 in the second half. Jaden Akins led the way with 18 points, with Jase Richardson (16) and Xavier Booker (11) joining him in double figures. Jaxon Kohler added eight points and 12 rebounds, and Jeremy Fears Jr. had six points and eight assists.

๐Ÿ”ผ Best Start Ever! Michigan State womenโ€™s basketball beat DePaul on Sunday, 89-61, to improve to 9-0 on the season, its best start in program history!

On top of the history-making win, Julia Ayrault and Grace VanSlooten were honored before the game for both joining the 1,000-point club. And on top of that, the Spartans broke a program record for blocks in a game with 14 against the Blue Demons!

๐Ÿ”ผ OT Winner. After dropping its first game of the Big Ten slate on Friday night, No. 1 Michigan State hockey bounced back on Saturday, using a goal from Isaac Howard in overtime to earn a 3-2 win and a series split at Wisconsin. Charlie Stramel and Joey Larson also scored goals in the game for the Spartans.

Michigan State is now 12-2-0 overall on the season and 5-1-0 in Big Ten play.

๐Ÿ”ผ Broken Record. Michigan State distance runner Rachel Forsyth carried her momentum from the cross country season into the first weekend of the indoor track schedule, breaking the Spartan womenโ€™s record in the 3,000-meter in a time of 8:59.4 in Boston on Saturday.

๐Ÿ”ผ One Of The Best. Michigan State womenโ€™s soccerโ€™s Justina Gaynor has been named a United Soccer Coaches All-American!

Gaynor becomes the fourth United Soccer Coaches All-American in program history, joining MSU Hall of Famer Laura (Heyboer) Heethius and former Spartan teammates Lauren DeBeau and Lauren Kozal. Her designation is the seventh overall for MSU, as Heethius collected the honor three times throughout her career (2008-10) and Kozal was twice named an All-American (2021-22).
