🔼 Movin’ On. Michigan State women’s soccer is into the second round of the NCAA Tournament!

The Spartans took down Ohio 3-0 over the weekend to set up a showdown with Harvard on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Bella Najera scored twice against the Bobcats, and Justina Gaynor added a goal as well.

🔼 NCAAs Bound. Michigan State women’s soccer finished outside of the automatic qualifier position at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional with a third place finish over the weekend, but the Spartans’ season is not over after the NCAA Selection Committee awarding them with an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships!

Along with the women’s team moving on to the NCAA Championships, Andrew Nolan was also selected as an individual on the men’s side.

🔼 Balanced Ball. For the eighth year in a row, Michigan State women’s basketball is 2-0!

The Spartans beat Wright State on Sunday, 99-55, thanks to five different double-digit scorers — DeeDee Hagemann, Moira Joiner, Julia Ayrault, Gabby Elliott and Isaline Alexander.

🔼 Spartan Split. After playing to a 3-3 tie on Friday against No. 19 Penn State, No. 11 Michigan State men’s hockey clinched the series with a 5-3 win on Saturday.

The event was highlighted by a pair of first place finishes from freshman brothers Max and Luke Vanadia at 285 and 184 pounds, respectively.

🔼 Fell Behind Early. Michigan State football dropped a tough road contest at No. 1 Ohio State over the weekend, 38-3.

Redshirt freshman Katin Houser made his fifth consecutive start under center for the Spartans, completing 12 passes for 92 yards.

🔼 Close Call. Michigan State volleyball and Purdue played as close of a four-set match as possible on Sunday, with the Spartans unfortunately coming out on the losing end.

Each of the first three sets were decided by two points.

The Spartans are 16-11 on the season and an even 8-8 in Big Ten play.
