🔼 Highlight Reel. Michigan State men’s basketball improved to 4-1 on Tuesday night, beating Samford, 83-75, at the Breslin Center.
Jaden Akins led the way for the Spartans with 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting, followed by Frankie Fidler (12), Jase Richardson (12) and Szymon Zapala (10) in double figures. Tre Holloman added five points, nine assists and six steals.

🔼 Good Groza. Michigan State kicker Jonathan Kim has been named one of 20 finalists for the Lou Groza Award!
Kim has connected on 18 of his 20 field goal attempts this season, including 3-of-4 from 50 yards out and a perfect 7-of-7 from 40-49 yards.

🔼 Strong Start. Michigan State men’s tennis’ Ozan Baris and Aristotelis Thanos got play started at the NCAA Singles Championships on Tuesday, both picking up wins to advance to Wednesday’s Round of 32!
This is the first time in program history two players have advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
🔼 Have Mercy! Michigan State women’s hoops is back home today, welcoming Detroit Mercy to the Breslin Center at 6:30 p.m.
Tonight’s matchup with the Titans is the final game for the Spartans before traveling out to Palm Springs, Calif. for the Acrisure Classic, where a matchup with Cal awaits.
🔼 Spartan Star. Michigan State hockey’s Shane Vansaghi has been named the Big Ten Third Star of the Week!
Vansaghi had a goal and three assists in a sweep of Notre Dame, and is the only Spartan with points in all four Big Ten games so far this season.
