🔼 Brought The Boom. No. 24 Michigan State women’s basketball pushed its record to 3-0 on Wednesday on Breslin Boom Night, beating Youngstown State, 96-52.

For the third straight game, the Spartans had at least four players reach double figures led by a game-high 17 points and six rebounds from Grace VanSlooten. Off the bench, Emma Shumate tied her season high with 14 points, going 4-for-5 from long range. Theryn Hallock and Jalyn Brown both added 11 points. Despite early foul trouble, redshirt-sophomore guard Kennedy Blair ended with eight points, five assists and a career-high four steals.

🔼 Breslin Ball. No. 17 Michigan State men’s basketball plays its third consecutive game at the Breslin Center today, hosting San Jose State at 6:30 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.

San Jose State is 0-2 to begin the season with road losses to Utah and UC Santa Barbara.

🔼 Shining Stars! Michigan State hockey’s Trey Augustine and Charlie Stramel have earned First and Third Star of the Week honors, respectively, from the Big Ten!

The two helped lead Michigan State to a pair of wins over then No. 3-ranked Penn State last weekend, winning 2-1 in overtime on Friday and 5-0 on Saturday to earn five of a possible six conference standings points.
