🗒 POSTGAME NOTES: Michigan State Football vs. Iowa

🔼 Call It Even. No. 13 Michigan State men’s soccer battled No. 25 Penn State for 90 minutes on Sunday afternoon, with neither team finding the back of the net in a 0-0 draw.

The draw keeps the Spartans undefeated on the season at 5-0-4 and 1-0-2 in Big Ten play.

The score doesn’t tell the whole story of the game — the Spartans dominated much of it, holding advantages in shots, shots on goal, and corner kicks.

Raegan Cox scored Michigan State’s goal, her second of the year.

🔼 Winner, Winner. Michigan State volleyball picked up a pair of wins over the weekend against Northwestern and Rutgers.

The Spartans were on the road at Northwestern on Friday, and won a five-set thriller. Taylah Holdem was once again outstanding for Michigan State, posting 25 kills and 14 digs.

It took four sets to take down Rutgers on Sunday night. Holdem and Aliyah Moore tied for the team lead with 14 kills apiece against the Scarlet Knights.

The men’s team finished fifth behind four nationally-ranked teams on the five-mile course, and were led by Alex Penski.

The women placed second in the 5K open race behind just No. 4 Notre Dame. Taylor Visscher paced the Spartans.

🔼 Top-Ranked Tests. Michigan State field hockey had the test of all tests this weekend, taking on No. 3 Northwestern and No. 1 Iowa on the road.

The Spartans fell to Northwestern 6-0 on Friday, although the score was just 1-0 at the half. Cecily Charles was terrific in goal, recording a career-high 20 saves.
