🔼 Sweep On Ice. No. 4 Michigan State hockey improved to 5-1 over the weekend with a sweep of Canisius in Buffalo, N.Y.

The Spartans won 3-0 on Friday with goals from Tanner Kelly, Joey Larson and Daniel Russell, and 4-1 on Saturday thanks to goals from Kelly, Larson, Red Savage and Isaac Howard.

🔼 Postseason Next. A tied match into the final 10 minutes between No. 18 Michigan State women’s soccer and Purdue turned out to be a lopsided 3-1 win for the Spartans, thanks to a pair of late goals.

Kaleigh McPherson scored in the 81st minute to break a 1-1 tie, and Meg Hughes followed with a goal of her own just two minutes later to give the Spartans a cushion.

Michigan State finishes the regular season at 12-1-5 overall and 7-1-3 in Big Ten play, and will be the No. 4 seed in this week’s Big Ten Tournament in Minneapolis.

🔼 West Coast Win. Michigan State volleyball split a pair of matches in Los Angeles over the weekend, picking up a late-night, reverse sweep win over No. 16 USC on Thursday before falling to UCLA on Saturday night.

Nalani Iosia, who hails from Long Beach, Calif., put together a fantastic performance in front of over 70 family members against USC, posting 10 digs, seven assists and a rare four kills.

🔼 Come Up Clutch. Michigan State picked up one of its biggest wins of the season over the weekend, beating No. 16 Iowa, 2-1, in overtime at Ralph Young Field.

Carmen Pucheta scored the overtime goal for the Spartans from the right side of the box, and was assisted by Maddie Lawlor and Emma O’Neill.

The Spartans welcomed No. 1 Northwestern to East Lansing on Sunday, and fell 5-0 to the Wildcats.

🔼 Bunyan Battle. Despite owning a nearly 100-yard advantage in yards gained, Michigan State football fell to Michigan on Saturday night, 24-17. The Spartans rallied late with an Aidan Chiles touchdown pass to Nick Marsh to get within one possession with just over six minutes to play, but couldn’t get a late touchdown to tie.

🔼 Postseason-Ready. Michigan State cross country ran In its final regular season race on Friday, the EMU Fall Classic at Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, Mich.

Michigan State’s Evan Loughridge won the men’s 5K running unattached, and Madison Osterberg won the women’s 5K running unattached.

🔼 Home Cookin’. Michigan State women’s tennis played its first home tournament of the season over the weekend at the Michigan State Classic presented by Auto-Owners Insurance.

Play was highlighted by Matilde Morais and Natalie Stasny, who both picked up singles wins and paired up to win a doubles match, too.

🔼 Road Trippin’. Michigan State men’s tennis finished up a successful trip to the Louisville Classic on Sunday, getting singles wins from Mitchell Sheldon, Danial Rakhmatullayev and Josh Portnoy on the tournament’s final day.
