🔼 All The Offense. The Michigan State football offense drove up and down the field all night against Iowa on Saturday, kicking six field goals and scoring a pair of touchdowns in a 32-20 win over the Hawkeyes on Homecoming.

Aidan Chiles completed 22-of-30 passes for 256 yards and a touchdown, and Nick Marsh recorded his second 100-yard game of his career. Jonathan Kim’s six made field goals were a program record.

🔼 Wildcat Win. No. 21 Michigan State women’s soccer won its sixth Big Ten match of the season on Sunday, beating Northwestern 1-0 thanks to a Bella Najera goal in the 58th minute.

With just one match left in the regular season, the Spartans sit in fourth place in the Big Ten standings with 21 points.

🔼 Friends To The North. A close exhibition matchup through two periods between No. 4 Michigan State hockey and Windsor (Ont.) turned into a lopsided affair late, as the Spartans scored three third-period goals in a 5-0 shutout.

Daniel Russell scored twice for Michigan State, while Matt Basgall, Tanner Kelly and Tiernan Shoudy all scored once.

🔼 Not In Bloom. Michigan State men’s soccer fell to Big Ten-leading Indiana in Bloomington over the weekend, 3-1.

Cristiano Bruletti scored his first goal as a Spartan in the loss, converting a PK in the 42nd minute to cut into the Hoosiers’ 2-0 lead at the time.

🔼 Top Of The Podium. Michigan State men’s cross country claimed victory over the weekend in Ohio, winning the Bowling Green Cross Country Invitational with a total of 45 points.

Running unattached, Evan Loughridge was the top finisher for the Spartans, crossing in third place with a time of 24:58.2 in the Bob Rothermel men’s 8K race.

🔼 Overtime Heartbreak. Michigan State field hockey dropped a pair of tough games on the road over the weekend in Big Ten play.

The Spartans fell 2-0 at Rutgers on Friday, and in overtime on Sunday at No. 16 Penn State, 2-1. Michigan State played with a 1-0 lead for the most of the game against the Nittany Lions, but a late goal from Penn State pushed the contest to overtime, where they found the game-winner.

🔼 Packed House. More than 8,000 fans were in attendance to watch Michigan State volleyball take on No. 2 Nebraska on Friday night, the second-largest attendance number in program history. The Huskers, who have lost just once this season, won in three sets.

The Spartans hosted new Big Ten member Washington on Sunday, falling in four sets to the Huskies despite a career-high 27 digs from Nalani Iosia.

💚 ONE BIG THING

🔼 Coach Izzo’s Homecoming. “He’s a class act and just a tribute to college basketball, and more importantly, how proud he is of being from this area. We’re awfully proud of having him involved in college basketball.”

Michigan State’s exhibition game at Northern Michigan was a special homecoming for head coach Tom Izzo, capped off with the retirement of his No. 10 jersey—a weekend filled with unforgettable moments.

This season, Abbott and the Big Ten are pitting school against school in the largest blood donation competition of our lifetime to fight the largest blood shortage in a generation.

The Michigan State Blood Drive is on October 30th. Want Michigan State to win? Then don't give up. Give blood. Every donation scores one point for your school on the leaderboard.

The winning school will receive $1 million to advance student or community health. Individual donors will be offered a free one-month subscription to B1G+ and will be entered to win a trip to the 2024 Discover® Big Ten Football Championship Game on December 7, 2024.
