No. 2 Michigan State hockey got the first of many wins this season!

Good morning, Spartans! The 2004-05 women’s basketball national runners-up were honored on Saturday at Spartan Stadium!

🔼 Put It On Ice. No. 2 Michigan State hockey bounced back from a season-opening loss to New Hampshire on Thursday with a 2-0 win over the Wildcats on Friday night at Munn Ice Arena.
The Spartan blueliners did it all in game two as Michigan State got goals from senior defenseman Matt Basgall and junior defenseman Patrick Geary.
🔼 Doubled Up. Michigan State volleyball picked up a pair of wins over the weekend, including its first ranked win of the season in a sweep of No. 20 Indiana!
The Spartans beat Iowa in five sets on Friday night before taking down the Hoosiers in straight sets on Sunday afternoon.
🔼 Clean Sheet. Tying his season-high with five saves, redshirt-senior goalkeeper Zac Kelly helped the Michigan State men's soccer team earned a 0-0 tie at Northwestern Saturday night.
🔼 Enemy Territory. Michigan State women's tennis tabbed a successful weekend in Ann Arbor competing in the Wolverine Invitational hosted by Michigan.
Six other schools also were in attendance in Ann Arbor to compete in the action, including Eastern Michigan, Iowa, Miami, Michigan, Northwestern and Ohio State.
🔼 Stuff The Stat Sheet. No. 18 Michigan State had its seven-game unbeaten streak snapped in a wild 5-3 loss at No. 7 Iowa on Sunday.
The teams combined for five second-half goals, with both teams looking to solidify their spots in the Big Ten standings.
🔼 Senior Celebration. Michigan State field hockey hosted Appalachian State for Senior Day on Sunday, falling 3-1 to the Mountaineers at Ralph Young Field.
Despite dropping the match, 3-1, Michigan State owned a 17-11 advantage in shots and an 11-8 edge in shots on goal. The Spartans had 13 penalty corner opportunities to six for App State.
🔼 Bruin Battle. Michigan State football fell to UCLA on Homecoming, 38-13, before a crowd of 72,109 on Saturday afternoon at Spartan Stadium.
